EpiGear Home
The Epigear website is home to a number of tools for
epidemiological and health economic modeling. The good news is that most of these tools are free and ready for download.
Two exceptions:
· Ersatz costs AUD 100. Ersatz is an
industrial-strength tool for uncertainty analysis (aka ‘risk analysis’, ‘Monte Carlo simulation’, ‘probabilistic sensitivity analysis’, ‘bootstrapping’) and microsimulation in Excel. Check out Ersatz here.
· Prevent is free but available only on request. Prevent is a multiple risk factor, multiple disease dynamic population model that allows the user to evaluate the benefits of risk factor
interventions. For details, see the Prevent page.
We can also provide you with specialized advice and services, see the Consultancy page for details.
We are happy to hear
from you, see our contact details.

Why (mostly) free?
The free software was partly developed in employment by
the Department of Public Health of
Erasmus MC, Rotterdam, The Netherlands, the World Health Organization, Geneva, Switzerland, and the School of Population Health, University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia.
Since the development was funded by public money it
seems only fair to make this software publicly available for free.
